Overview

What is Copper Tripeptide-1?
Copper Tripeptide-1 (INCI: Tripeptide-1 Copper, GHK-Cu) is a blue complex formed by chelating copper ions with the tripeptide composed of glycine, histidine and lysine. It is a mild signal peptide. It participates in regulating the synthesis of extracellular matrix-related proteins and reduces the degradation of matrix proteins. It also possesses antioxidant properties and helps soothe skin stress induced by external irritants. For formulation: maintain pH within 6.0–7.0, add at low temperature. Avoid co-formulation with L‑Ascorbic Acid (raw VC), high-concentration acids and EDTA chelating agents. It can be applied in cosmetic formulations such as serums, facial masks, creams and scalp care products.

Product FAQ
What is Copper Tripeptide-1?
Copper Tripeptide-1, INCI name Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu), is a blue complex formed by chelation of copper ions with the tripeptide consisting of glycine, histidine and lysine. It is a water-soluble signal peptide cosmetic raw material, included in the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients (2021 Edition).
What is the appearance and solubility of Copper Tripeptide-1?
It appears as blue to blue-violet crystalline powder; freely soluble in water, suitable for incorporation into aqueous formulation systems.
What is the difference between GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu (Tripeptide-1 Copper) and AHK-Cu (Tripeptide-3 Copper) differ only in the first amino acid: GHK uses glycine while AHK replaces it with alanine. GHK has abundant literature support and is widely used in facial formulations. AHK has more in vitro studies focused on hair follicle-related models and is commonly applied in scalp care formulations.
What is the recommended dosage of Copper Tripeptide-1?
The recommended addition level for formulations is 0.005%–0.1%. The raw material can exert its activity at low addition levels.
