What is L-Carnosine?L-Carnosine (INCI: Carnosine, CAS: 305-84-0), chemical name β-alanyl-L-histidine, is an endogenous dipeptide formed by the condensation of β-alanine and L-histidine. It widely exists in human skeletal muscle, brain tissue, skin and other tissues, and has multiple biological activities including capturing active carbonyl substances and scavenging free radicals. It appears as white crystalline powder with excellent water solubility. Prepared via biological fermentation process, its purity reaches ≥99% (HPLC). It is mild and low-irritating, with good compatibility and favorable stability within pH 5.0–8.0 systems. It is widely applied in cosmetics, functional foods, dietary supplements and other fields.
